CUMMINS
AT AGRITECHNICA 2025, CUMMINS DISPLAYED ITS ENGINE PORTFOLIO SPANNING MULTIPLE POWER RATINGS AND FUEL OPTIONS. PHIL DAWSON, GLOBAL AGRICULTURE BUSINESS, TELLS US MORE
Cummins’ long-lasting legacy in manufacturing agricultural machinery can be traced back to 1919, the year that marked the release of its first engine for farming equipment at the Indiana State Fair. The launch of the 6hp hand-cranked oil burner more than 100 years ago marked the debut of Cummin’s historic Hvid model series.

Presently, Cummins’ diverse portfolio of agriculture engines continues to power farms around the globe. The company’s rich history in developing agribusiness technologies has helped fuel its global product expansion into combines, tractors, harvesters, sprayers, loaders, spreaders, telehandlers and more, through its diverse engine lineup that spans from 3.8-litre to 15-litre offerings.
Cummins showcased its latest agricultural innovations at Agritechnica 2025, a leading trade fair for agricultural machinery. With an emphasis on durable and reliable power solutions and simplified mechanical designs that make integration and serviceability easier, Cummins’ engines, aftertreatment, and axle solutions were on full display in Hannover, Germany. Alongside the F4.5, Cummins displayed its B6.7 and Next Gen X15 Off- Highway engines.
Small size, high performance
The new F4.5 Structural engine is being produced at the Cummins Darlington Engine Plant, UK. With power ratings that range from 130-160hp (95kW-120kW), the smaller and lighter package size and higher power density make the new 4.5L optimised for powering tractors. Substantial low-end torque and transient performance benefits are coupled with efficient fuel consumption.
The Cummins Flex Module aftertreatment system was showcased with the F4.5 and is designed for integration flexibility. Its Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) can be positioned under a tractor bonnet, mounted above the engine, while its low-profile Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) System can be positioned vertically to minimise height. The robust UL2 dosing system offers proven high-flow performance and simplified interface requirements while passive regeneration minimises the need for preventive maintenance.
Dependability and performance
Also displayed at Agritechnica was the B6.7, which is the most produced engine in Cummins’ product portfolio. Known for its wide range of application fit, rugged dependability and performance, Cummins’ B6.7 was recently made available in Claas Evion combine harvesters and Versatile’s (BVI) tractor. The Cummins B6.7 platform has millions of engines operating across dozens of diverse off-highway and on-highway applications in field.
Meeting customer needs
Cummins’ Next Gen X15 Off-Highway engine is a flagship for power and efficiency and joined the Agritechnica 2025 lineup.
Available in a variety of power ratings, the X15 Off-Highway engine promises agribusiness customers lower operating costs, simplified integration, and digital capabilities that can integrate with an OEM gateway or third-party telematics service provider.
As part of Cummins’ fuel agnostic HELM platform, the company displayed the X15 Off- Highway engine with a hydrogen head at the Bauma trade fair in Germany in April 2025. In addition to hydrogen, other fuel options customers can choose from include diesel, and biofuels such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO),
Ideal for tough conditions
Attendees also had the opportunity to see the Meritor MOX E8, an axle that is purpose-built for agricultural tractors, harvesters, and bailers operating in the toughest global conditions. Designed with OEMs in mind, it combines decades of proven technology with a modular architecture for unmatched packaging and customisation flexibility. Common components like axle housings and carriers are paired with tailored options – including drum or disc brakes, application-specific gearing, and multiple wheel-end configurations.
Cummins believes the full Agritechnica range demonstrates a continued commitment to the agriculture sector – providing options and scalability, as well as durability and enhanced performance.
